there were two of us and we had ordered a sandwich and salad and two drinks. they ended up charging us for someone else's meal, $65 instead of our $31 bill and when I told them they came back to tell me the waitress said that's what we ordered. HORRIBLE SERVICE.charged us for someone else's meal – a coworker and i decided to give Hamburger Hamlet a try for lunch, I havent been there for years and despite their legal troubles at this branch we gave it a go.the service was took about 20 minutes for our waitress to get our order, then 30 to get our food, 15 minutes every time we asked for a drink refill and 30 to get our check which we asked for 2 times (shouldnt they WANT to get paid?!) the check and credit card sat at our table for 15 more minutes and after our waitress went to the next table to get their check (there were 2 couples including us in her section) and we got up to pay at the front. Desserts lean toward the basics-chocolate cake, ice cream-and easily serve two or more. In recent years, the chain's popularity has ebbed, but thanks to friendly service and an old-school atmosphere, the remaining spots see a steady flow of families and locals. After gaining success within the Hollywood community, the thriving burger joint opened franchises across the Southland. The first Hamlet opened on the Sunset Strip in 1950. Somewhere between fine dining and fast food lies this upscale burger chain.
